Are you interested in attending GCMC in 2010-2011?

Magnet Monday Tours:

To learn more about our school please join us for a Magnet Monday Tour! Magnet Monday Tours begin in Main Building on the campus of Greensboro College. Park in the parking lot off of Odell Place and walk across campus to Main Building. The dates and times are outlined below:

Monday, February 15, 2010. 9:00-10:00. Main Building - 1st Floor in Lea Center Lobby.
Monday, February 22, 2010. 9:00-10:00. Main Building - 1st Floor in Lea Center Lobby.
Monday, March 1, 2010. 9:00-10:00. Main Building - 1st Floor in Lea Center Lobby.

Open House:

To meet all of the teachers at GCMC please join us for our Open House on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 (floating) in Main Building, Lea Center Lobby. Park in the parking lot off of Odell Place and walk across campus to Main Building.


	Application Information for 2010-2011

Important Information:

GCMC enrolls approximately 60 new juniors each school year.
Our current junior class becomes our senior class; therefore, we have very few seats available for rising seniors during the 2010-2011 school year.
To apply for next school year you should be a current Sophomore in a Guilford County School.
The applications for 2010-2011 will be available following the GCS Magnet Fair on February 13, 2010.
We will accept applications from February 14, 2010 through the end of the school day on Friday, March 12, 2010.
A complete application including the student's current transcript and 2 letters of recommendation must be turned in by March 12, 2010 in order to be considered for the 2010-2011 school year. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
The application must be handwritten by the student and signed by the parent.
Following the March 12 deadline all qualifying applicants who have submitted a complete application packet will be scheduled for an interview with our teachers and administrative team. These interviews will occur in April, 2010.
Students will be notified of their acceptance to GCMC in May, 2010.

All applicants must meet the following guidelines:

Must be a current 10th grader (a few rising seniors may be accepted).
Current 10th graders should have already taken or currently be taking the following courses:
English I and II
Algebra I
Biology
Civics and Economics
World History
Physical Education

Why? These courses are typically 9th and 10th grade courses. We do not offer the courses at GCMC. Because they are requirements for graduation you must have already received credit for them (or currently be enrolled) in order to attend GCMC as a junior student.

	Mission Statement

The mission of Greensboro College Middle College High School is to re-engage and graduate high school juniors and seniors who have become disengaged from the traditional high school or are unsuccessful or dissatisfied in a traditional high school setting. Our aim is to re-engage students through the power of the college campus and help them to develop in a way that they can move out into society and graduate as responsible citizens prepared to succeed in higher education or the career of their choice.
