Welcome! The Media Center is the heart of our school. Our goal for the Media Center is to instill a love of reading in our students. Reading is the basis for successful learning. We have a truly amazing collection, and we want our students to check out books every day, to know where to find information in the Media Center, and to be able to navigate our many information resources. Another important mission of the Media Center is to support our wonderful staff. The resources in the Media Center are here to support our teachers in teaching and our students in learning. The Media Center is open for school-wide checkout from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. every morning and 1:30 - 2:15 each afternoon. Your child will also have an information skills class in the media center on a fixed schedule and he or she may check out books at that time too. During class we will learn how information is organized in our libary, how to find information to support classroom learning, and how to find a good book for pleasure reading. Use the new "AR Book Lists" page for an updated list of AR books/tests found in the collections of the Brooks Media Center. Please let Mrs. Fenske know if you find that a book or test is no longer in the collection so that the list can be updated. |
